What is the term for lending something or someone out to someone else so you can get something?
alwaysmoose asked:
Would you call it pimping out or whoring out? Lets say my brother is really good at fixing stereos and I have a friend who really needs one fixed so he says he’ll give me something if I convince my brother to fix the stereo.

Am I pimping out my brother or whoring out my brother.
The brother thing is hypothetical. I just want to know which of the TWO would be the proper term.
Pimping or Whoring.

bargaining? bartering? negotiating? milking your brother for all he’s worth?
I don’t know that there is a non-slang term for it that describes it as well as those slang terms do. “Manipulate”, “defraud”, or “extort” come close.
Actually it is called leasing, renting, or being
an employment agent. Tell your brother about your friend and his broken stereo dilemma,
and what he would charge him to look at it,
then add a percentage for yourself. If he can fix it, he might need parts, for which your friend must agree to pay. (A fair charge would be about $30. depending on the amount of time it takes to fix it. You should get at least $5.00
on the $30. !) If he can’t fix it, your brother
and yourself should get at least $5.00 a piece! You spent the time bartering, he spent the time seeing if it could be repaired!
If this friend was going to give you something in trade, be prepared to pay your brother yourself!
