How long does it take to rebuild credit?

credit
Carme V asked:

I just recently paid off all my past credit card debt. I paid off one student loan (expect the interest) and i have one student loan still active. I noticed my credit score went up, but i am still being denied. How long does it take to completely clear off my debt and how soon should i apply for credit so i can “rebuild” my credit. And do bad credit ever go away?

you may want to get a copy of your report and see if there are some other negative factors effecting your report such as address, birthday, number of accounts open vs accounts in good standing, length of accounts, number of inquiries, etc. credit generally takes years to rebuild once it is messed up try for more info

usually, bad marx stay on yer report 7 yrs. however, u CAN write the credit bureaus, & in the mailing, u want 2 show proof of pmt (copy yer receipts) & then on the copies, check yer credit report & get the acct #’s & then @ the bottom of the pg u put yer SS# & specify this mailing is an UPDATE 4 acct # (whatever the # is) it’s best if u were 2 have the pmts auto drafted from a temp. savings acct so when u get the printout from the bank, there’s more proof that u pd. there’d B a confirmation # 4 online pmts; (write this down) & include this when writing 2 credit bureaus

You can make it go away and take steps to enhance your credit profile. I would recommend 2 things: 1) a very low cost credit repair program to try to have the negative items removed. 2) I would add a tradeline program to boost your score quickly (60 days or quite possibly less). A friend in California used this and got a 120 point bump from 560 to 680. My friend in California went through and called their toll free# or filled out the free evaluation form to get the ball rolling. Good luck.
