Has anyone actually received money from American Community Lending?
John P asked:
I saw previous question regarding American Community Lending. There were a few people that said either themselves or co-workers were waiting on money. Did anyone actually receive any money? I’ve had recent dealings with them, but the thought of wiring/sending money to Canada for “insurance” was just too risky for me, so I backed out. If anyone has received money I’d like to know. If anyone has been scammed by them, I urge you to report them to the BBB because the rep I was dealing with, clung to the fact there were no complaints and they enjoyed an “A” rating.

Any lender that requests “insurance”, “deposit” or monthly payments before you receive your loan is a scam.
Especially if they want you to send the payments by Money Gram/Western Union to a foreign country.
Once you pay, they’ll want more money or the loan offer will disappear. Either way, you’ll lose.
The BBB does give them an ‘A’ rating but lists them as mortgage brokers.
Searching the ‘net for ACL came up with several different sites. A few were still under construction using different e-mail extensions but the same Co. Name, address and phone numbers.
IMHO, you did the smart thing and walked away.
Mr. B, How do we know you are not involved in American Community Lending?? I have a hard to believing that we send a little money and get a lot back. Where is the incentive for the banks to get any type of guarantee on the money sent? Why not take the insurance money off the top of the money you are supposed to receive? If American Community is trying to scam people who are obviously struggling to survive in this economy is a shame.
I thought they seemed to be legitimate. They were on the BBB with no complaints and the address appeared to be real. However, they are a scam outfit. After I paid their insurance (they wanted it wired to Welland, Ontario, Canada) I was unable to reach the representative I worked with ‘Angela Scott’ 866 840-3080 ext 208 and 866 311-9935 ect 208). Also, they provided a new toll free number of 866 311-9935 explaining that they changed providers, however the old number of 866 840-3080 still works. I looked up the ‘new’ toll free number and it is new as of 07/10/08 and has a name of Wong Associates and a physical address of Toronto Ontario Canada. I was originally told by ‘Angela Scott’ ext 208, that I would receive a wire by 4:00 pm Pacific time if my wire was received prior to 11:00 am. When I called ‘customer service’ at ext 207 ‘Sheila Gardner’ advised me that the funds would be received within 48 hours. When I called Sheila Gardner 7/21/08 at ext 207, I got her voice saying she was Judy Ellis with Cross Point Lending. Cross Point Lending’s toll free number is owned by Tanya’s Catering in Ajex, Ontario, Canada. When I reached ‘Sheila Gardner’ she said my funding would be revceived Tuesday. I have not reeived any loan. American Community Lending is definitely a scam as is Cross Point Lending. Do not send any money To American Commumity Lending, Cross Point Lending, or Ridgeshore Associates. I sent enough for all of us. All these ‘companies’ are actually based in Canada and pretend to be based in the US to rip off US Citizens. I have lost enough money for all us, do not wire any funds to American Community Lending, Cross Point Lending or Ridgeshore Associates. When I questioned Angela Scott about the wire to Canada, she said that was where the courier was at the time. It seems that that is where the “courier” always is. I filed a complain with the BBB. My complain does not yet appear on the BBB. I also filed reports with the IFCC and the FTC. I also submitted a report Rip Off Report (ripoffreport.com)hoping to help others avoid the serious financial troubles I am having now because of these people.
I too was hoping that this was true, but knew it was too good to be true. The rep kept clinging to the BBB “A” rating. Well it is now an “F”. I filed a complaint too and it is not listed yet, but the rating has gone down. I think people get ripped off and then fail to report things. The more you get the word out the better. The website is still up and that surprised me. They will change their name next week and rip off some more poor people.
